It seems that the introduction of 1.2 has also brought with it some sort of disease that causes my AV (and some other people's AVs) to arm-twitch when sitting down.

While for the most part it seems to be a rather benign bug, lately I find it necessary to always have a cup of cocoa in hand so as not to be accused of performing a certian non-PG activity while sitting down in a PG sim. =D

Is this bug being worked on?

I think xenon linden explained it a few days ago. i guess with 1.2, they did some under-the-hood mods to the avatar engine, to allow for the eventual goal of us making our own gestures (waaay down the line). something about inverse kinematics.

The first custom gesture I will make is one in which my arm will remain perfectly still.

The second will be "air quotes", which I will use at least once per sentence.

Oh! And me arm looks so CRAZY when it shakes like that! Shake it, mama, shake it! XD

Ahem.

That is all. :o

It'd be fun to add that to a social listener script to make you automatically do the "finger quotes" animation whenever it sees you say something containing at least two sets of double quotes =)

Its fun when both your hands/arms and head are shaking at the same time while sitting.

I've even seen someone's head shake while standing.

Tonight's top story: Mad Avatar Disease. It seems that several of the Avatars in Second Life came in contact with one of the Mad Prims cultivated by Mr. Buhbuhcuh Fairchild for a film which was never released for public viewing.

Scientists are baffled by the spread, for up until recently it was thought that the only way to contract the disease was to actually -eat- a prim, grainy wood texture and all.

Mr. Fairchild was unavailable for comment.

Rumor has it that this disease has been miraculously cured in the deveopment codebase. I saw a bug report go by my email box with a comment like: "Yeah whatever -- fixed".

The miracle worker (er, frantic developer) who discovered the amazing vaccine is clearly a humble individual.

I'll be sure to get on Richard's... er his... case to make sure the fix gets ported to the deployment codebase soon. If we're lucky it will go out in the next patch.

Thank goodness we have miracle workers looking over us =)

I was about to consider joining a support group. Now I wonder how hard it will be to kick this cocoa addiction =)
