It seems to me that almost every time we get a(n) (un)scheduled maintenance period where SL is down, Andrew or Cory Linden dutifully come on the forum and proudly announce the time when Second Life will be up.
Great! Wonderful!
Um.. Guys? You never end up following that time schedule.
Sad but true, I joked with a friend of mine about this particular downtime, and read off what Cory put up as a post (which I shall now proceed to quote).
We are going to down the grid tomorrow morning around 6am PST and will be back up before noon PST.
As soon as I said that, I added the comment (read, they'll be up about three PM my time).
Lo and behold, Cory comes on again and says "OOPS! Make that 3:00PM." By the way, we're both on the same time zone.
I almost feel like we should start placing bets when a downtime comes around, and the person who guesses closest to the time we have uptime gets the pot. Somewhere in the range of L$50 to L$100. Not enough to break the bank, but to make you a bit wealthier if you managed to hit the time frame.
Anyways, that's all for me, I'll go back to lurking and waiting for SL before I gotta go to work. >_< I hate 12 hour shifts.
