I finally updated to OSX 10.3.6 and now for the first time my AV is spliting at the wait - head between legs looking backwards. Others were doing this also - so is this a conincidence or related to the OSX System update? Machine Model: iMac CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (3.3) GeForce4 MZ - nVIDIA CPU Speed: 1 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB Memory: 768 MB Any help be appreciated. Thanks

I witnessed this on my own system once or twice but it hasn't happened since.
It was pretty funny tho.

The update from 10.3.5 to 10.3.6 did include an udated driver for both the ATI and Nvidia drivers on Mac's, so it could be a problem with the video cards. I'm not THAT familiar with Mac video drivers, i.e., updating or things like that, but you may want to try rolling back the video drivers to an earlier version, or try rolling back your whole OS (i'm still an amateur at Mac's, and haven't gotten a chance to really play with them yet, but I believe you can roll back your video driver, so don't quote me on that.) I'll look up and see if I can find any of that info out for you.

I wasn't split at the waist, but my head spun completely around and one arm was longer than the other. The only way I got rid of it Merwan was to restore my last AV.
This was not a result of upgrading my MAC OS though, it's just something that happend one day out of the blue.

Did you try switching AV's at all Merwan, or was it just a single incidence type thing? I've had problems like this before, that was a single incidence, i'm guessing hiccup somewhere between the servers and my display. If it's consistent, then perhaps something got messed up in the updated video card drivers on the OS X update.

It was doing it intermittently - and it was happening to one other people at the Welcome area also. She said she was on a PC.

You know, considering the description of the pose your AV is stuck in.... do you think that it's some LL grid monkey's sick sense of humor?

No it's not stuck - it goes into this pose maybe once every 5 minutes for about 2 or 3 seconds, then goes back to normal.

Merwan - are you wearing any scripted attachments? Did someone one possibly hand you a drink or something that would animate your AV to do this?
This is sounding more like an SL scripter's sick sense of humor.

A couple of additional questions: Is this happening only in one sim or does it happen in all of the sims you go into? Does it happen after you have logged off and then log back in? I ask this because one night I bought one of Ulrika's chicken hats and wore it and danced away in that sim and then teleported home and just detached it. About a week later I went to the same sim that I bought the hat in and while I was flying in the air my AV started doing the chicken dance. (I was not wearing the hat). I tried all the commands to stop it because I needed to work on plants for the green house and it's really hard to build while doing the chicken dance. What I ended up having to do was to put the hat back on, tell the script to stop and then detach the hat. Worked like a charm - no more unauthorized chicken dancing. It's something to check anyway.

You did go and check that Use Avatar Vertex Program in Preferences/Options wasn't switched on, didn't you? Sometimes after an update, SL will recheck the graphics hardware and misidentify what Macs have installed. AVP checked on is the only thing that's ever made my avatar's head travel down to her crotch...

Last night when I was inWorld it was NOT doing it.
I've concluded it was server side.
Thank you everyone for your help!
