i was researching architecture when i ran across this interesting page about Philip LeMarchand. apparently he wasn't quite sane, but was something of a mathematical genius. not only did he draft complex architecture, but he also made... puzzle boxes.

Being a big Hellraiser fan I found it very enlightening.

The Hellraiser series is a set of movies by Clive Barker. Actually, he did the first one and either the 2nd or 4th one, but the others did try to center on the original theme.

The first Hellraiser movie was of course the best (in my opinion - though I liked each of them in their own way). Definitly horror. And one of my all time favorite movies. Basically the doors to hell are opened through a puzzle box and the demons known as cenobites come forward to bring pain to the person that summoned them and drag that person back to hell. Every once in a while, someone opens the box that didn't mean to.

That is part of it at least.

Supposedly the realm of the Cenobites is just one of many possibilities. I wonder if he has explored the possibilities of writing about others?
