Have you seen the pictures from Magellan's Chronicle?
He's somehow stumbled into 'There' !! The pic looks a lot like Cannery village.

Hah, simularity is there, but theres some large differences.
1) There mostly had all wood, Magellan's are thatch, wood, and metal. 2) No main path between the houses it appears. 3) More run downish and dirtier (most likely). 4) Actual water with (probably) working boats. ![]() But yes, simularity is there in the fact that they are houses on stilts. _____________________

In the hour or so I spent in There on a free trial, I seem to recall running across some actual water somewhere. There is water, in some parts, like theres a few hot tubs, some waterfalls (with hot tubs hidden in them), and other random water structures. But the ocean, and any water that should be in the terrain... is well... the terrain. They don't have any ocean/water rendering system, its just low friction blue flat terrain, which earned it the nickname "blue concrete". Its great for building up speed to ramp off stuff... but thats about it. Supposedly at one time there was actual ocean water, but it was buggy, or didn't work out, or something. This was back in early Alpha and Beta testing I think, they then ditched it and went with the concrete aspect... which I never understood, but eh. Theres a new post: http://secondlife.blogs.com/magellan/2005/02/854_pm.html Seems the hype is dieing down on this... they should just release the land already! Or more pictures!_____________________
