1. This is NOT a MMORPG. It IS a MMOG.
2. Lineage 2 which I cannot currently reccomend.
3. Gonna do SWG free 14 day trial.
4. Hoping to get in EQ2 beta.
5. Will prolly join COH once I move to my new apartment.

MMORPG - Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game
MMOG - Massively Multiplayer Online Game.

I refute the assertion that it's either. I'd use MMOE -- Massively Multiuser Online Environment, as a blanket term for everything from games to SL, to targeted non-entertainment simulations, such as ones for training, and so on.

I Currently play CoH (City of Heroes) in addition to SL. I also filled out an application for Beta on EverQuest 2. Still waiting, and probably will be until it is released to the public. *Smile*

Sorry, Nimue. They are not currently accepting any more applications for EQ2 beta. They prolly will later tho. Often a month or so before they plan to release they open up beta to the public to stress test the servers for most MMORPGs.

I still have an Active DAoC account. I have 44-50th level toons in Percival (Albion), Bors (Midgard) and Pellinor (Hibernia).

I haven't played in awhile though and have been considering going and giving away my gear and platinum off my mains and twinks.

After beta testing for Lineage II, Wish and some other forgotten title (Shadowbane?) I'm really not impressed with anything out there at the moment.

EQ and DAoC are the only MMORPG's that have held my interest for any length of time (years).

I too got in the EQ2 beta signup and if all goes well I should have a spot in that one as well, for those of you who have applied and want to get in, your best bet is being an active participant in discussion groups and forums, they want active people and this is one pre beta way to show your dedication and ability to stay informed etc...

As far as SWG I am coming to an end of my 14 day free trial and while I love SW and the SW universe, the game seemed like the same ol level grind of past games, though the skill advancement and training features were nice because you can group w. higher skilled parties with higher risk, but without penalizing them on xp.

I'm a long time game addict starting in the days of Blue Max etc.. on the old Atari 800's. My favorite games are ones that require teamwork be it the Tribes franchise, CounterStrike, Ghost Recon or MMORPG Raids, I prefer gaming with other dedicated players, having practice schedules and competing in competition ladders be it OGL or TW.

Oops getting long winded..

I'd love to hook up with any like minded folks and BS or pull some of you into our retro gaming parties (usually Tribes, CS, Quake, Starcraft etc...) We try and have 1-2 every couple months or so. If any of you might be interested drop me a line. Our group is mostly older (25-52, yep our resident old fart is 52!!) IT folks and we all have a sense of humor and are NOT easily offended. :)

These are very sad times to be an American but where is the rage among the citizenry? Where are the flag wavers who so laud the freedoms symbolized by a flag and written by quill pens in our constitution? Why are we not rallying in the streets against this sort of attrocity? Why because we are gluttonous lazy bastards who say it won't happen to me so who cares. --Ishtar Pasteur
