Just a quick survey, what windows version do you have against the problems you are having with 1.6

There is actually more than one service pack for win 2k.

I've actually had no problems whatsoever with 1.6 - prefer the building tools, love the UK keyboard support (yay!) and the inventory search.

I ended up with one crash at first because of an apparently reproducable bug, and then it crashed a bunch over and over until I cleared my cache, then it's been kosher. People who are experiencing lots of crashes may want to try clearing their cache. It seems to help a lot of folks.

Other:
* Linux: Black screen, can't run.
* Win98SE: Doesn't run
* WinXP: Runs, but I get frequent disconnects

Not really a lot of datapoints, but it seems that the service pack isn't a big factor after all.

There is no option for 'Windows XP Service Pack 2 and crashing sometimes' so I placed my vote in 'crashing all the time' but that's not quite right.
