Bwaahaaahahha! :D

I've always disliked romance novels. So nice to see 'em getting spoofed.

after working in public libraries many years, a coworker and myself figured out the formula for romance...

Anything printed in a larger type (but not labelled as 'large print') was usually very poorly written. If it was by a well-known author, it was just some drivel quickly spewn out. These were usually the Halequins - and not more than about 200 or so pages.

If it was printed in the tiny type - the story usually had a lot of detail and was fairly well written - like the regency romances - they tended to have a story. A lot of these authors go on to be mystery writers (some scifi & fantasy too). These were about the same length as the Harlequins - 200 or so pages.

The thick romances, if written in the small type, had the juicy parts.... Usually lots of allusions to sex, body parts, etc. And they were written fairly well. But if in the larger type, then they were written badly.

This can sometimes be carried over to hardcover books too. A popular author who has a hardcover book written in the larger type - making it seem like you should pay more for it - usually has just typed up trash. But this isn't always true.

Slither slither slither slither went the tongue, but the hand that was what she tried to concentrate on, the hand, since it has the entire terrain of her torso to explore and not just the otorhinolaryngological caverns

hehehe. i'ma guess the "worst of" contest didn't allow internet fan fiction. this is actually pretty good in comparison. :D

i can hear the authors now. "but size doesn't matter! it's not the length of the book it's the diction of your fiction."
