Imagine my surprise when I went to test the event-announcer last night. I had heard everyone complain about it and I heartily sympathized and resolutely condemned the latest Linden anti-commerce move cooked up in that socialist utopian tekkie wiki collective farm they got going out there in California.

Imagine this! It's not only that there is a rule that you have to post an event ONLY on land you own or your group owns, meaning you have to get that consent, the system now ONLY allows you to fill in ONLY your land or your group-owned land!

Imagine that long bony spinsterish finger of the nanny state poking in our commerce again!

But it gets worse!

Because I rent a stall for something like $100 a week from Nexus Nash at GIGAS MALL, and I'm now a member of the GIGAS GROUP, *every single piece of land in Nexus' empire is now available for me to hold an event on*.

I noticed, for example, the Meins sim residential land, where my friend blaze Spinnaker lives.

Hey, blaze, do you mind if I have a yard sale on your property you've rented from GIGAS in Meins?

Hope not, because there is *nothing to stop me* from toggling YOUR PRIVATE HOME in that rentals group as my venue-of-choice for my much-aligned HOUSE PARTS sale :D

Yard-salers! Head over to blaze's! He's not online! He won't care! He has a nice yard!

I can also see that anybody in my rentals empire LOL can just decide to hold a yard sale anywhere else. I actually heartily encourage yard sales. But I can't tolerate one person in the group going on another person's rental land to do an event. That's not going to be tolerated within my groups, whatever the weird thing the Lindens have going on now with their nanny-state intrusiveness!

PLEASE end this. It's idiocy. Events should not be tied like this. It's a severe hobble. It means people have to be in a group to have an event, and I can't bring in a non-group-owner like a DJ to put on an event and put his objects or have him do the announcement. There are a million other things hobbled with this new land-tied events crap.

Before the change you could host on anyone's land. There was nothing stopping you from putting in the coords to blaze's place before there was a drop menu. Heck with more freedom there were more places you could host without permission. Anywhere in the world. So I don't think that is a valid argument for the system being bad.

Oh, well they must have kept that property labeled with your name...

...but do you WANT to have a yard sale now, wherever you are? I have some house parts.
