Hi everyone. Every time I hear about one of the "great builds of the old days," I feel left out because there is no way for me to experience the "great builds of the old days."

So, I've set up a permanent image gallery for Second Life stuff. It doesn't require any registration to use, so you don't have to sign up for ANOTHER account somewhere. You can register if you want to, it lets you keep all your pictures together so you can edit them, edit the comments even left for your pictures, and a couple of other cool things, but registration is in no way required.

I currently have four categories set up:

Gone But Not Forgotten
"This category of images is dedicated to great Second Life builds that are no longer in-world, or will not be in-world for much longer. Everyone is free to post here."

Avatars
"Strut your stuff and show us who you are in Second Life. Write a short bio, share your thoughts, etc. Meet and greet."

First Life Photos
"Are you brave enough to pull the mask aside and let everyone meet the real you? If so, this is the place to do it. Say whatever you want, reveal whatever you want. You don't have to reveal who you are in Second Life unless you want to!"

General Second Life Screenshots
This category is dedicated to general Second Life fun. Cool screenshots, fun parties, neat experiences you've had. Share!

I'm using the 4images gallery, so you can send e-Cards to friends with any of the pictures people upload, you can vote on your favorites, etc, etc. Really fun! I'm working on a cust template skin, but right now it's just the default. I just wanted to get this going when I read the thread about Gravity Space Station shutting down. I loved going to that place when it was empty and just sitting there, looking out the dome at the world.

What I personally would like to see on the site is archives of great builds long-gone. I've heard of some awesome builds I just was never able to see. :(

So head on over and check it out, and please, if you have some great screenshots, past or present, do share!

The site address is http://www.secondlifesites.com/gallery

P.S. I just changed the DNS this morning so it may not work for everyone until tomorrow morning. If that link above does not work, you can still access it by going to http://207.226.20.26/~slsites/gallery/

See you there!

P.S.S. To upload a picture, go to the category it fits in and look for the "Upload" button in the upper-right hand corner of the screen.

I just posted 12 pictures of Gravity Space Station (being disassembled 1/23/05) here. If anyone has some to add, please feel free to do so.

Well this is good to see, Aaron. It's gonna bring a tear to my eyes!

Someday, we'll have 3D printers that can print out cute lil' scale models of these builds.

Until then, we're stuck with 2D...

I hope Gravity at least gets backed up in Inv... would be funny to see parts of it rezzed on a sandbox someday.

Impromptu space partay! :)
