Even though I don't run a club and rarely even attend events, nor do I care about ratings so much, I understand that it's how a lot of SL'ers survive in the world, financially. (trust me that I'm not SL rich
and farrrrr from it) Even still, I barely attend events, even though I could win lindens if I did attend when I do get dragged to one. I often leave before they are over, or I stay long after it's over if I'm enjoying myself. SL is basically an unwinding tool for me. It's different things for all of us. I often wondered how come once in a while, a lot more people don't hold events just for fun or creativity (without giving out lindens). I for one don't attend a lot of events because of the redundancy. If the Lindens go through with this, no matter what is desired, we may as well buckle down and get ready for the ride. We will all take a hit in one form or another, but I'm here for the temporary escape from real. I don't care to deal with financial situations here. My goal was to escape it in real
NOT EVERYONE LIKES CHANGE....even me 
but tis the way of the real world and now this one. Who knows, maybe a compromise can be made but people always kick and scream when change comes; I know I do 
I see a lot of people threatening to quit over this. That is definitely their perrogative and I am for whoever wants to do what, in light of the new changes...to each his own. But I look at my dad who used to buy cigarettes when the cost was a couple of coins per pack. Everytime the price went up, he would threaten to quit. Over the years he went from paying maybe 75cents a pack to a little over $7.00 per pack in New York. lol whewww. Sad but true! So, when you're hooked, and they know it, they know a lot are just mad and talking in anger, but going no where....well maybe some really will.
So this thread is basically to say, if the majority who do not want the change, have to accept the change, then change your world in SL. Be more creative in events, because we sure could use that! With change comes adjustment, just like white on rice. We're all gonna be ok!
