Just on a lark, I decided to look up that Parkinson's treatment that gives guys MOs... Cabergoline, or Dostinex, whatever you want to call it. Hehe! After a bit of math, it turns out that the stuff, by weight, is worth oh... ~4000 times as much as gold. Whoa.

I know it hasn't been approved for sexual use in the US.... has it been in Canada? (Even off label uses have to be approved....)

Bow down before your new gods, the drug companies of the future will make phone companies and all other global monopolies seem like childs play. You have been warned.

Prescription drugs

Zyprexa 10mg @ $399.00 for 30 pills (no generic) Zoloft 15mg @ $90.00 for 30 pills (no generic)
$500/month for my sanity.

My insurance runs out soon and then I'll see just how much I'm willing to pay to keep my chin up.
I don't know how far pharmaceutical (sp?) companies can push profits before people go ape. Telcos and cable providers offer luxury items. Prescription drugs are not luxury items. Well, maybe those penis enlarging pills I tried -- fat lot of good they did me. Took them for 6 months and I'm still only 12 inches. :\

Briana Dawson Awful, isn't it Briana? I was on Effexor for a while (I really still ought to be, but I'm dumb)... my bank account hasn't yet forgiven me.

Hehe, well, I did some digging, the cheapest *I* could find it was about US$30/pill. Which works out to around US$1.98million an ounce, for the active ingredient. Whee! I don't know that it's been approved for any use here in Canada... probably has for Parkinsons... I have no idea.

I always buy all my prescriptions at drugstore.com
I found they have by far the best prices in the USA.
Here are their prices on the meds you mentioned...
Zyprexa tablets 10MG $269.99 (30) $789.97 (90)
Zoloft tablets 25MG $73.78 (30) $210.78 (90)
Hope this helps.

I dont do chems. They are nasty. Most I ever drop is an aspirin, and only because they say its also good for the heart. However, if I were on some sort of prescription, I would definitely ask for generics. Dont you have generics in america? Here its almost mandatory to prescribe people a generic if its available.

I see so many comments like this coming from Americans. I also see comments attacking the idea of 'socialized medicine'. Coming from a country which enjoys a National Health Service, I sometimes find the juxtaposition heartbreaking.

Can't resist adding my two cents here.
THIS is why I always vote in local elections and why I ALWAYS vote for anyone with a clinical medical background (doctors, nurses, pharmacists). Our health care system is a mess and people who have witnessed it first-hand, day after day, should be part of the decision-making process to fix it.
I take care of people every single day who end up in the emergency department because they can't afford to buy the drugs they need.
And don't even get me started on mental health coverage by insurance companies. We are woefully lacking in reimbursement and treatment facilities, so guess where everyone lands when they crash? You got it--in the emergency department. Last night I had six people in the throes of one form of psychiatric crisis or another in the ER at the same time, and this is not uncommon. Most of these people had conditions already diagnosed and the exacerbations could have been prevented if they had proper psychiatric care.
phew! /me ends rant

I love the exotic shit but it is mad expensive, sometimes as much as 20usd a gram. I will be growing my own next season for personal consumption. I will plant a mostly indica hybrid. In the meantime I will continue to spend the majority of my money on elevating my THC levels.

Yeah, there's generics here, but not always. Sometimes doctors here don't let patients get the generics if they are available, because they are different--lower quality or slightly different dosages or whatever. I'm not "up to speed" 100% on the import drug issues but quality assurance and regulation standards I believe push the prices up compared to places like Canada.
