Don't get me wrong, they look nice in the garage, but the moment you begin your ride, these vehicles become sub-terranian, or get you frozen in the middle of a cement bridge. They suck and aren't worth the money. I'll not buy another.

The effects you're describing are the result of a poor connection to the server, not the fault of the car/motorcycle maker.

And SL having sucky sim crossing problems. Crossing a sim onto prims can often lead to embedding ones self.

I remember that, on my groups last plot of land it was possible to fly from Gama to Amida and right through the buildings lower wall into the basement without using a door... just to server crossing issues. I managed to land planes that way. :P

Don't worry Cubey, we all know your vehics are well made! Just the tool to make them are a tad... well crude.

Next, the piano gets turbo jets and the Terra Combat System. Piano dogfights, anyone? :D

Cubey I have a good connection to the server, and I know you have lots of vehicles for sale in here, and probably dont like to hear that people feel ripped off when they dont respond operationally. But, a person does feel ripped off when hundreds of L are paid, and you cant even enjoy its intended use. I've used vehicles in other worlds out THERE, and they really work and are a joy to use. I'm just saying, that SL should step up and fix the problem, or at least make the sellers run a disclaimer; "This vehicle for asthetic purposes only, not intended for on road use."

To me, vehicles are only fun in totally empty sims. The vehicle sims or any of the new sims before they are sold off are usually good.
Otherwise I must agree, vehicles suck in SL.

They're working on it. Havok 2.0, due out sometime late next year.

Nemar, I don't think you do have a good connection to the server. Lots of people, including me, enjoy vehicles all the time in SL. I like to blast around in the forested sims of the northeast on a hoverbike. "For asthetic purposes only"? Not at all. Nobody would bother making vehicles if they weren't fun.

You've "used vehicles in other worlds out THERE"... of course they work better. In THERE, the content is static and all pre-downloaded to your computer. Just like any other game with offline content, it's no accomplishment to zoom around effortlessly because the only data going between you and the server is position data.

In SL, content is dynamic so it has to be downloaded by your computer on a "just in time" basis. This means that your computer is downloading a massive amount of data constantly. This means that the experience isn't nearly as smooth as games with static content, like THERE.

Do vehicles work? Yes, of course they do. Maybe your computer and/or net connection just aren't up to snuff. Sometimes I experience bad lag too. Other times, it's fine.

Thanks Lordfly, appreciate it. I guess not all of us are elitist consumers, or programmers with the best computers, and or connections, sustaining the savvy to tweak the equipment. Thanks for your input.
