Sponsored Event for Tsunami relief?

I'm thinking we could perhaps do something to raise funds for the DEC-- perhaps a sponsored 24-hour Second Life session this weekend?

If you'd be up for this please reply to this thread. There would perhaps be some technical jiggery-pokery involved so if anyone could offer scripting skills too that would be great.

I've booked an event for 3pm game time to discuss this, at Tupi 210,50.

I'd like to do another fashionshow, player auction event, or something similar as to what we (Perilous Pleasures) did for the Florida Hurricane relief, but I have no connections with any charities. If someone has a good fund, or is handling donations, I'd love to talk with them.

I'd gladly donate and/or participate (if I'm in-game during the event).

Next time some storm hits the USA I'm not going to any fund raising event...

The Mahoosive SL 24 Hour Fundraiser Thingie!!!

In order to raise funds for disaster relief, from 12 noon Friday there will be 24 hours of fundraising activity to raise money for victims of the tsunami.

A major part of this effort will be events being run during the 24 hours, but if you want to do something more proactive you can join Fau Ferdinand, Toast Bard and Jinny Fonzarelli (being sponsored also in RL) in their 24 hour SL Session, or sponsor them directly via PayPal or with L$. If you'd be interested in that, or donating items as prizes, please contact Jinny!

If you don't want to donate cash directly to the fund, you can take part in the many events that will be running during the 24 hours-- look out for 'DEC Fundraiser' in the event title!

All monies raised will be donated to the DEC relief fund, a union of the major UK charities working in the affected area. Monies donated in L$ will be sold on the Gaming Open Market and monies paid to the DEC.

Yay!! I'll attend as many as I can! That is New Years Eve and the hubby and I are going out, but when I'm on, I'll be there as much as I can!!

I am simply blown away after reading this thread in it's entirety.

I'm thinking that LL should ask this month's developer incentive winners if they would like them to send the DI to asia instead.
