I have only been to two Concerts in my lifetime (but many, many personal shows though). It was a "Deep Purple" concert which was proceeded by "Joan Jet" no less.... The croud was not into Joan Jet, but Deep Purple insted, and it seemed like she was a little irratated by it too....... It was a blast!!!!!!!!
Almost went to a Pink Floyd concert once, but was too f*cked" up to even get in the car.... Ahhhh the memories...........

No way I could make a list of everyone I have seen live. The list of just the bands I remember seeing would take hours to compile. So I will just list a few.
The first concert I went to was 38 Special and Jefferson Starship. The coolest concert was Devo on the "Oh No, Its Devo" tour. Biggest stage show was Pink Floyd. The most amazing raw energy show was, The Boredoms. The best and worst show both go to The Beastie Boys. When I saw them in the 80's on their first big tour, "You gotta fight for your right to party" I was there to see Fishbone warm up and walked out of the Beasties when I saw they werent playing instruments and they were just plain stupid. But I saw them on the "Hello Nasty" tour and I was amazed at the show and how the crowd reacted to them, it was really something to see. Best show this year would have to be David Bowie, he is still amazing after all this time.

Here are some of the ones I can remember.........the ones I can't remember I probably had TOO good of a time at...tee hee. When I was a kid: Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and some others I can't remember when my parents took us to the Grand Ole Opry. Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods at Walt Disney World one New Year's Eve a really long time ago. High School: Twisted Sister Otter Creek Charlie Daniels Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Neil Young The Grateful Dead The Marshall Tucker Band College: The Grateful Dead more times than I can remember....and also, saw Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir when they came to my school on their own Bruce Springsteen, several more times.......... America (they came to the college I was going to at the time) (gee, I can't remember too many more though I know I went to more concerts....I wonder why my memory fails me? ) More Recently: Garth Brooks in Central Park Clint Black Waylon Jennings (about a year before he died) The Dixie Chicks (took my 10 year old daughter, it was her first concert and it was so worth the nearly 400 bucks it cost between the tickets, food, souveniers and lodging because she kept saying "I can't believe I'm here, pinch me, Mom) Evanescence, Seether, 3 Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin together last July in Orlando. My list seems so pathetic compared to others.....but I loved each and every concert I've been to.

i have only been to three concerts my whole life first one was the X fest in may 2001 with a whole bunch of bands, including fuel, our lady peace, collective soul, american hi-fi, and cold. a very nice man from the radio station that sponsored the fest let me backstage (or back field, as it was in a field) when i told him it was my first concert. i got to meet all of american hi-fi, half of cold, and three members of collective soul (THRILL!!) which was cool cause that's who i was there to see. i was front row center the whole fest too- got dirty sweaty and nastay, but it was fun! second show was last april at the "social aid and pleasure club" here in AVL- the Orange Peel. went to see the Crystal Method, whom i have loved since the beginning. well, me and my HB were front and center the whole show, and bought an album at the thing, thus getting an aftershow meet-& sign with the band. so i got to meet them in the big line, after meeting them when they came out from backstage to chat at the bar. third show was this fall, at the Orange Peel: D-Fuse, techno DJ from texas. he had two local DJs open for him, which was cool, but when he played there were 15 PEOPLE in the whole place. it was awesome, we all got up and danced on the huge dance floor! it was like a private show! and he gave all of us a promo copy of his single and signed it, and me and HB stuck around and chatted with him after everyone left. so yeah, i'm spoiled like hell with my concerts, but i've thoroughly enjoyed every one i've been to so far!!

In High School : - Chicago - Crosby, Stills, and Nash - Emerson, Lake, & Palmer - Led Zepellin (42 people got arrested at this show, mostly for smoking dope, so after this my parents told me no more concerts) College years - Rolling Stones (18th birthday / Tower of Power warm-up was HOT, HOT, HOT) - Santana - Eric Clapton - Bob Dylan - Fleetwood Mac - Frank Zappa - Grateful Dead - Talking Heads - Clash (awesome show... Red Rocks Ampitheater in CO) - Police - Prince - Psychedelic Furs - Pretenders - Elvis Costello - Bob Marley (camped out for tix... 5th row center... Bob says, "put out your cigarettes and light up your spliffs, its gonna be a Rasta night in Kansas, man" Too many club shows to name them all, but notables were : Iggy Pop, Muddy Waters, Gatemouth Brown, John Lee Hooker, Boomtown Rats, REM (300 people), XTC, X, Black Flag, Asleep at the Wheel, Devo, Toots & The Maytals, Burning Spear Since college : David Bowie Public Image Ltd. Chris Isaak Public Enemy Ani DiFranco Lucinda Williams Again, too many club shows to list them all, but notables were : Yellowman, Butthole Surfers (on a bellyful of mushrooms... was a life altering experience), Violent Femmes, Hot Tuna, BR5-49, Ramones (with Joe Strummer), Pogues These days, I rarely go to concerts. I just can't be bothered to hassle with all the parking and the people and the cost, just to see a band from a gazillion miles away. Give me a hot band in an intimate club any night of the week. - Ace

I love the Orange Peel!!! You're talking about Asheville right? Excellent venue and the little novelty shop is one of the best places to shop for gifts. Ashville is one of my personal favorite getaways...eat at Salsas, go to the Orange Peel and then there is that great little coffee house with the amazing deserts.

Quite a few gigs over the years, including too many to list at pubs, folk and blues clubs for minor (but great) bands, but some of the 'bigger' acts that I can recall, in rough chronological order from the '80's through to now.... Iron Maiden Festival : Whitesnake/Meatloaf/ZZ Top/Dio/Twisted Sister/Diamond Head Status Quo Gary Moore Robert Plant UFO Bad News Gary Glitter Robert Cray ( twice ) Steve Marriot The Shadows AC/DC Dio The Long Ryders The Travelling Riverside Blues Band ( followed them around heh ) Jethro Tull ( three times ) Def Leppard All About Eve ( twice) Eric Clapton ( twice ) T'Pau ( twice ) Bryan Adams Deep Purple Blur My Bloody Valentine Jesus and Mary Chain Dinosaur Jr OMD Chumbawumba The Levellers Del Amitri The Albion Band Oyster Band ( twice ) Toyah Jon Otway Richard Thompson Harvey Andrews ( twice ) Equation ( three times ) The Hamsters Blue Horses ( three times ) Jan Ackermann Lindisfarne Fairport Convention ( four times ) Karnataka Some great nights, and days, but hmmmm....some of the earlier stuff is just plain embarrassing now Artists I'm wanting to go see : Tori Amos, Green Day, Evanescence, Liz Phair, Richard Thompson (again)
