I am in the process of finishing a story on piracy in Second Life. I am looking for current residents that may have a perspective on this issue.
If you would like to comment anonymously, please IM Neehai Zapata in game. All IMs will be forwarded to my email account.
I am seeking brief interviews via email or in game.
Thanks.

I assume you're not talking about peg legs and talking parrots type of piracy?
If you are, I am all in favor of it. Especially with all the new void sims.

My opinion is that pirates (not the sea-faring kind) suck doo-doo.

how do you define piracy? If you're talking about by-the-numbers copying, thats one thing. If you're talking about replicating the exact same functionality of a scripted object - despite having had to write the script from scratch - thats another. If you're talking about creating something based on another product and adding features or innovating, thats still another. And if you're talking about selling other people's work, thats another still. And if you're talking about something else, what the hell are you talking about?

OR. Are you reffering to say, Music? If so, you're very late as the streaming music now in SL is not FROM SL, but listened to through outside streaming servers.

Or are you talking about people straight copying things like art and tee shirts from the internet and selling them online?

Yeah. I'd have some custom made Drawn Together shirts (to hand out for free) if it weren't for that copyright thing.... and the fact that I can't get good images.

So what is it exactly that you're saying is pirated? I've seen many things that could be, but yet don't classify as being such. When saying such things like these you need to be specific as to what you call piracy.

From: someone I've always thought of it as the 'Nook of Naughtyness'. That story comes later. I just felt I needed a couple more days in the tanning bed to fully enjoy...err...be effective during my undercover operation.
