"Most important, no one will be erroneously paying for other people's stuff. Most people will get more money as a result, and a few will see their account balance go down. "
And right you are! How can anyone ever plan for anything if you continously keep changing tax calculations? Fixing is one thing, but charging without any notification is outragious. This is another black day in SL's history, and we already have too many of them.
Am I now taxed on referral fees or what? Where did the extra $1100 come from, and why is the estimate for next week still $900 more? Lindenworld was supposed to be tax free, I thought. Or are you charging for items I take out of my inventory for 5 minutes at the wrong time of the day?
I am down to the point that I can accept any tax system, as long as it is consistant. Fighting inflation? This is not the way to do that, it's increasing inflation. At this rate, I guess there's nothing left than to increase all sales prices by 300%.
Seems like the only option left for players is double bookkeeping or other creative solutions...

Yo, calm down! If you lost money in the recent tax craziness, Linden Labs happily pays you back for it. Just send support@lindenlab.com a quick e-mail with how much you lost and they'll pay you back. This sorta thing is rare, but when it does happen, at least LL has the sense to make up for it, so don't worry about it!

Harald has a right to be upset - since 1.1 and aligning everyone onto the same tax day, things have not been right. Yes they have refunded money, but the taxes still seem significantly higher than their pre-1.1 levels, which is not right. The taxes are onerous as it is, but having them shifted around like this and having the amounts change without explanation is frustrating.

I'm not going to repost (see my thread in the Economy Forum) , but I agree with Harald 100%. The post 1.1 economics are not making sense based upon what we all had experienced pre 1.1.

I'm inclined not to complain so quickly. These are some major changes on the server side, and if there are a few bugs the first time around, no surprise. I won't start to be worried until, after two or three tax cycles, things are still going wrong. (And even then I wouldn't make a ruckus, just perhaps submit a bug report. They probably already know and are working on it.)
