No problem! I checked mine and it was manufactured recently enough to not have the faulty cord.

Obligatory: That's what happens when you are on the bleeding edge of new-fangled technologies like copper, plastics, and electricity. I await the Norton XBOX Power Cord Anti-Virus suite.
Having just gotten an XBOX - for my kid (really!) - I'm amazed at just how badly a consumer product can be designed. The controllers come with strain breakaway connectors in them because kids were pulling the heavy consoles down on top of themselves in the heat of play. This probably would not be so much of a problem if the box were not surrounded by sharp plastic fins that serve no purpose but to make it look cool. There's the old saw "if people built houses the way they built software, the first woodpecker to come around would destroy civilization". I guess if Microsoft were to sell air, the common wisdom would be whatever you do don't breath it!. |
