Is this reporter a "Feted" Second Lifer?

OK - I check various news agencies online every morning and have for the last 10 years or so. In all of that time, I have never seen the word "feted" used in any article. Ever.

But today I find this:

The entire article can be found on Reuters - but I find it really interesting that the word "Feted" was used.

Did it happen to also mention "fuck-you hedonists"? That would be the clincher

No - but I kind of doubt this that this guy is a neo-con when I look at all the articles he's done on the environment and global warming. I just thought it was pretty funny (odd) to have run across the word feted in a global headline for the first time ever after it had been so popular in the SL forums. Could be that I really 'otta break out my foil hat.
