I mean say for example, you had someones password, can you get into trouble for logging in as them? I mean prolly not if your a dork that hands our your password, but if you gave it to someone, you trusted, and they abused that, logged in as you, and caused some trouble, would that person be liable for at least a suspension? They should do right? or at LEAST a warning? Thoughts please

I believe that if you give someone your password, you are held responsible for what happens.

Well as long as I have the TOS open:
2.4 Passwords. At the time your Account is opened, you must select a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and are responsible for any harm resulting from your disclosure, or authorizing the disclosure of, your password or from use by any person of your password to gain access to your Account or Account ID.
As David said, the person that gives out their password will be held responsible for your actions under their account. But as long as they give you permission to use it, you are not violating any rules for signing in as them.

It's a violation of the TOS: From: someone 2.4 Passwords. At the time your Account is opened, you must select a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and are responsible for any harm resulting from your disclosure, or authorizing the disclosure of, your password or from use by any person of your password to gain access to your Account or Account ID. At no time should you respond to an online request for a password. Linden will never ask for your password offline or online, except that you will be required to enter your password as part of the log-on process. You are not allowed to ever disclose your password to another person. As per: http://secondlife.com/tos.phpPfft nice going, Aimee

might be nice if we had a user name for our accounts that wasn't our real SL name. the way it is now people only have to find out your password since your user name is public knowledge. i'd feel safer if they had to find out your secret password and a secret username.

From: Aimee Weber That's what I get for being a lazy reader. This is pretty much what I saw when i read it: LOL! That was great! I'm a skim reader on anything technical. I figure if I read around every 5th word I'll get the gist. Hmm..perhaps that's why flunked out of medical school...
