You were right. Three others have submitted their resignations. Make you wonder what is going on that all these people are resigning. From Yahoo! News......Besides Powell, who had argued Bush's case for ousting Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein before a skeptical U.N. Security Council in February 2003, others whose resignations were confirmed Monday included Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman, Education Secretary Rod Paige and Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham. edited because I can't count.

Maybe they all were as shocked as we were that the American public would actually reelect George. The shock was probably more acute, since they have a behind-the-scenes view of the man in all of his glory. Plus, now that Bush doesn't need to worry about relection, he can focus on getting more cabinet members who wipe their arses with the constitution. It's going to be all bigotry, all the time, baby!
On a less cynical note, perhaps Mr. Powell is finally preparing for a presidential run. Besides Mr. McCain, he's the only Republican for whom I'd ever consider voting.

If I had the choice, I would had voted for McCain. I felt he was on the best moral track out of all of them.

I don't think so. Powell said years ago he would never make a run for the White House. After serving in the Bush Administration, I'd imagine that he's seen up close how "hard" the job truly is.

From: Edav Roark Looks like Condoleeza Rice will be taking his place. I work in news, and when I first heard someone say that I just thought it was a joke.. ...seems there was a joke, only it was on us As for the resignations -- I'm sure there will be reasons tailor-made for the media.. as for real reasons, we'll have to wait for the memoirs or the John Stewart interview. Siggy.

Wait, I thought he said he was only going to serve one term? So I wasn't surprised.
Also isn't it the custom for all cabinet members to resign at the beginning of a second term and for the President to accept or not? Someone much more knowedgeable than I please speak up.
