Over recent months there's been too much, IMO, promoting the money aspects of Second Life until the recent announcement Cory Doctorow And His New Novel Coming to SL!This type of creative real world/inWorld mingling is exactly why Second Life fired my imagination, captured my heart and sent me soaring many months ago. I look forward to the new residents that will be arriving as a result of this most Excellent! type of promotion. And as I stated at Hamlet's thread - "I want to say how inspiring it is to see this kind of promotion for SL - where people from the arts/literary world are brought inWord in a way that showcases the creative side of our world to the real world." Thank you, thank you!

It's getting there, Merwan. We have a ways to go, but as features and content are added to Second Life, the appeal reaches beyond "all who want to own a club" and the like. Personally, I think ensured, very-long-term dynamics like Flash interactivity and 3D imports will really open the floodgates on creativity. Until then, I'm happy to add my own features.
