Okay, I've been told by several in the "Inner Core" of SL that they couldn't trust me further than some random person on Ebay. I've also been told that they'd trust Anshe further than me because she has a greater stake in SL. I'd like to find out what you all think. Am I someone you can trust? Someone who has put a lot of time and effort into the SL world. What do you think?

Money's wierd stuff. Makes people do strange things. I don't know you well, we've spoken in-world maybe twice, so I can't begin to guess at your moral character. And neither can anyone else. :) People who are good aout everyting else can be bad about money. You can't be 100% sure about others untill they've been tried.

You're going to have to advertize and get people willing to take the risk of using your service. Your reputation will grow, and then you'll be set.

As for Anshe having a greater stake - well, that's not trust so much as it is leverage, yes?

I think Hank, Adam, and Zeppi are the only ones left that I'd trust.

I can trust Anshe (and the whole capitalist crowd), but that's only because she's (they are) very predictable. She always does the the thing that brings her the highest ROI, something I understand very well.

Hank, Adam, and Zeppi don't always do what brings the highest ROI but they are very honest folk.

Who is Inner Core now? I'm thinking the 1986 Dallas Cowboys are large and in charge of SL right now.

Hank I chose "I really don't know" ....mainly because there are very few people I would literally trust from online, BUT I can honestly say I do NOT trust Anshe anymore, or less than I do you. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt unless they have a bad rep for srewing people.

Hank, I replied that I really don't know.

When we both started at about the same time, you were very friendly to me and we had some good chats and laughs. Then you stopped talking to me altogether, not even saying hello back when I greeted you, and I was left with the thought that I had read you wrong.

I never had reason to not trust you though.

I've not had many (any?) personal dealiings with Hank, but I've also heard nothing to make me believe him not worthy of trust. I've also noticed him being a fair-dealing merchant in game.

I'm I FIC? I sent in my application but it was returned with "don't call us, we'll call you", so I take that as a "no". ;)

Hank has answered many a question through the USL group during my year+ in SL. What would motivate someone to do that? I think is was pure selfishiness, the good kind - he donated all that time answering questions because helping people, even total strangers who won't even say much in the way of thank you, makes him feel good.

There was a problem in Ahern once that had me upset and I needed on scene help to deal with it. Hank was busy at the time but he dropped what he was doing and showed up right away. Again, why? Because he wanted to help someone else.

I am a pretty distrusting and cynical person at times, but I think you can trust Hank Ramos to provide the lindens you pay him for.

As a newcomer, I'm still exploring, and I'm also willing to give the benefit of doubt to people I don't know yet, but I have no problems trusting Hank what so ever. He was quick to give me a helping hand in a time of need, and delivered excellent and precise service. I would happily continue using his service, as it's fast, fair-priced and reliable. Keep up the good work Hank, thumbs up for you :)

A good rule of thumb is only trust those who you can sue.

Therefore, for US citizens I would recommend trying to restrict business (and to clarify I mean business of a banking nature etc - I am NOT talking about in world shopping, entertainment etc. - thats a bit different) to US companies with known and proven physical addresses & tax IDs. The closer they are to you geographically, the better (makes filing in small claims court feasible).

I definitely wouldn't (since I live in the USA) do business with anyone from Europe or elsewhere. They could pretty much take your money and run with little recourse. The cost of litigation would be prohibitive.

Now thats not to say I actually *think* any hypothetical person, and Hank in particular, would do anything like that. But money is money and there are a different set of rules one must apply when conducting business.

Not sure if Hank posted his company information or not, but if he did and it is verified, then I wouldnt have a problem trusting him to hold my money so long as the company is in the US.

Apply the above to fit your country of residence.

Just a little wisdom I picked up over the last couple decades or so ;)

Hank, you seem like a good guy, but Taggy said it pretty well. In business, I trust people I can hold accountable in case of problem. In my view one of the serious barriers to commerical success/expansion in SL is the lack of enforcable contracts & an arbitration system. The Linden's have said this is something they are eventually looking at implementing... whatever eventually means.

The only person I trust implicitly in SL is Ferran, but then she sits all of 2 feet away from me most of the time. :D

Well, I'm fairly new here, and don't know you at all, Hank, so I'd pretty much have to say I don't trust you (at least, at the moment) with my L$/CAD.
