So- does anyone know exactly why, every time there's an update, all of the trees turn to pines?
I don't mean literally 'all', of course, but a good chunk of them, all of mine, and all of a couple other people's I've spoken to. It's not a crippling bug but it's a bit annoying to have to delete all of your trees and start over every time there's an update.
Is there anyone else out there that this has happened to? Or is it limited to myself and the few I've spoken to about it?

I believe this is because pine is a fast-growing, inexpensive tree to plant and allows coal mine and timber companies to say they have "reclaimed" the land with minimal effort.

That's really strange Liam. I've never heard of that happening to anyone. I have a lot of trees on my land but none of them have changed flavors after an update.

this happened to me too! thought i was getting a little loose in the head, good to know its happened to someone else  basically after 1.1 i put up a new store in hawthorne, and on the four corners of the building were planters with the 3ft tropical plant in them. i logged in after the first post-1.1 update and they had magically turned into pines. oddly, though, the palm trees i had 'planted' around the perimeter of the property were unchanged. anyway, i know that doesnt help your landscaping issues any, just thought you might like to know its not just you  |

Wouldn't you know -- all of my palm trees turned into pines after the 1.14 update. This is a tad annoying...

We have this too - but only on our group owned land tho lol I deleted the pines and Cai replaced them with her own made beautiful made plants instea this time. We wouldnt annoy our tenants by planting pines in their apts anymore I sent a bug report about it tho and I got this reply from Colin yesterday: Hello Matina:
Thanks for the report. We're aware of this issue and are working to resolve it but don't have a time frame for when that might happen.
