Does anyone else have problems crossing sim boundries in the vehicle sims? It's like I crash into an invisible wall, slow down quite a bit, and then start to speed up again as I cross the sim boundry. Just wondering if it's like that for everyone or something funny with my connection.

I don't usually travel in vehicles, but it sounds like server lag. Whenever you cross a SIM boundary you and your vehicle are "handed off" to the other server. This may take some time considering the population and everything that server might be doing. Not to mention that the calculations that are then taken up by the other server for your vehicle movement etc. I don't think it's a connection issue on your end, sounds more like a server going, "Oh great, speedy gonzalez wants to race through me now"

I have seen the same phenomenon. Scripted attachments contribute to it.

I've noticed that problem myself. I don't think it's the server handoff though, I'm pretty sure the velocity drops after the object crosses the boundary. It should stay constant, and the bump caused by crossing the server should be handled by the client, but it's not. I don't know why.

It's standard. Everyone gets it.

I haven't noticed a slowdown when flying across sim borders, but I have noticed that I lose altitude. I think what happens is that I leave the sim's land area, the physics engine in that sim notices that I'm more than 50 meters above ground level and starts dropping my altitude, and then my av gets handed off to the next sim, which stops my descent.

I'm pretty sure the original poster was talking about using a vehicle while going over sim boundries, not just flying regularly.
I get this too, while using a vehicle.
