Greetings from Isere, where gravity is reversed!

An unusual phenomenon was discovered in the snowy Sim of Isere today. The force of gravity has been reversed.

It was first discovered at an event, where the audience members found themselves floating upwards after standing from the seats. Or rather, doing that swimming motion normally reserved for free-fall. Only by going sideways across the Sim border and then dropping to earth like a stone before re-entering the Sim could this be stopped.

I later discovered that the same thing happened whenever I teleported home - into Isere. No sooner did I arrive than I started to float like a helium balloon. After the first two times of gliding over into Hanson or Verbier, I decided to just let it ride. Keep my hands off the cursor keys, and float into the upper atmosphere.

It was a peaceful trip, albeit that the swimming motion made it rather exhausting after a while. Once past the clouds, I put on my pilot's helmet and noted that I rose at a steady rate of 5m/sec. Only a timely teleport request from Germaine LaFollette (a previous victim of the effect) prevented me from crossing the 3000m mark and possibly going up all night.....

I attach a photo of my trip. Yes, it's been bug reported and Lindens have been IM'ed. Until it's fixed, however - you are free to try it out for yourselves. I recommend starting by sitting on the seats at Isere(150,250), then standing and seeing where it takes you. Have fun on your journey....

Now why can't changing gravity be an option on private sims?

So log in, teleport there, sit down, stand up, and float. It works for me.

Lisse,

I thought you'd been losing weight lately.

Haha, this happened back in version 1.0 in Slate on occasion... I had a couch that, if walked on, would basically remove any sort of gravity requirements your avatar had. No scripts needed!

It was fun.

I endorse the idea of gravity being an option in Estate properties.

It would be sweet if you could set the level of gravity, and have it effect avatars and objects. Have everything just suddenly float.

Then what if you could have it set per parcel?! And script effected?!

"Push this button to turn on/off gravity in this room."!! :D

I've heard that there are scripted objects people can maliciously leave on your land which cause this effect.

It doesn't appear to be a script, as those put you on a ballistic trajectory. This is just a slow lift. You can even fly back down to the ground -- but once you land, it starts lifting you up again.
