Okay everyone, I hope I am not illegaly starting a new thread, but I swear I searched and could not find a specific answer to this question, or the one that I thought would work, would not allow me to post. So here goes. My teen daughter who is 15 has been bugging the mess outta me about playing the teen version, since I lost my mind and mentioned it to her..lol! Anyways, I searched the forum under teen version, and found that it was already available. So I went to the site given in the forum, had her pick a name and got registered, and then learned she has to be invited by a teen already playing. I went into SL to see if anyone had any teens that were already playing, but alas no one had any. But, a young lady thought a linden had to invite her, and suggested that I come to the forums. Is there anyone that can help me out with an invite? Her name is Moody Bling, I would greatly appreciate it, so she will stop making me go grey...hehe. Seriously though, I would appreciate any help

Hmm have always wondered about the Teen Grid... I know they don't have access to our grid but how come we don't have access to theirs? I'm pretty sure i can do a lot of builds with the teens in mind, make a lil L$ while i'm at it etc... imagine an ice cream truck driver not being able to sell ice cream to kids but having to drive around night clubs and downtown metro office buildings etc...

Well thank you for the invite, and not sure about adults going to the teen grid. If you look in search tho, and type in teen version, there is a lot of discussion about the teen grid. I'll check your place out sometime this eve...tc Silk _____________________

In a nutshell: don't put adults with teen if you don't want that some pedophiles abuse them there (or lure them to something bad IRL). _____________________

Hmm I guess that could be a bad thing heh... too bad they can't separate them in IRC and the rest of the internet where it's actually a problem

If I were you Silk I'd take this question directly to a Linden or the 'ask a Linden' forums....I am sure you'll get a response, I mean after all your daughter is a potential paying client. And in my opinion your endorsement as a parent should go a lot futher than an invite from another teen.
And I feel your pain my daughter is SEVEN and she knows most of the terms for SL...since she hears me and her dad talking often. Her and her brother(9) have just been signed up for 'Toon Town', a juvenile...Disney VR world, and they love it. But she still practices Tringo on the website it is now available on lmao, I've created a lil monster. She has years till she can get into the teen grid....but has already talked about it. *Sigh* Monkey see monkey do eh? This message was posted by 'Nyx Divine', I forgot to log hubby out.....lol |

My kids are driving me nuts too, they are 6 and 8 and have a long time to wait! They are often looking over my shoulder when I'm in world, my son helped me design a prim robot, and my daughter just yesterday asked me when I was going to teach her to play tringo. My first couple of weeks I even let them steer my avatar around sometimes before I realized that was against the rules. How they love to fly... Pre-teen grid anyone?

You know, I fully understand why random adults aren't allowed onto the Teen Grid.
But I can't help but think that if the parents of the kids were allowed, it would help keep the whole thing ... ummm ... supervised. ![]() Say, only allow adults using the same credit card as a teen, or something, to prevent abuse. I don't know about anyone else's kids, but when mine were that age, just knowing I could check on them at any moment made them watch their own behavior. Just a thought. _____________________
