SL Geek Board?

Is there a board out there specifically focused on SL as a technology? I'm picturing forums for discussing specific issues with scripting and other geeky stuff in SL, but also more open-ended discussion about what SL is, how it works, and where it's headed. And discussion about other approaches to virtual space, from Half-Life 2 to Croquet, with people who have a similar SL perspective. And links to geeky articles and what not. There's a bunch of people here posting things in this vein, but it gets spread out through the various forums and lost in other stuff. If there isn't such a thing, I wish there were.

i have created the second life users group. if enough people join, we'll claim a group forum where we can discuss serious future features and uses of second life and post links to relevant articles.

the group is invitiation only. we won't exclude anybody; but we do want to add people that are serious enough about it to ask. if you want to join, please im me or jarod godel.

Sounds interesting, Khamon. I'll IM you about it. It's possible I could set up an external forum/web site like I described, but I'll have to think about whether I should invest the time.

i scheduled a foundational meeting for 5pm pst today. i'll host another one this week during a european friendly time. the results will let us know whether or not it's worth our effort. people will be serious about trying to help ll move forward with this project or they won't.

Is there any chance you'll be discussing things through e-mail or a web forum too?

oh sure. any tool for the job. we can get a self moderated group forum here is we have enough members. then we can sticky a couple of resource threads with links to related pages, wikis, blogs et cetera. we can also pass the info around inworld and via email.

we should do anything we can think of to relay relevant information to members and encourage ll to move ahead with things such as a client api.

Hey Cadroe, that's a good idea. Let me know if you set it up.
