I think it was Devlin who first mentioned this pain in the ass mouse pointer problem. On occasion it acts like it suddenly has a mind of its own and will drift - willynilly - across my screen. I think its because something big has kicked off in the background, but geez it shouldn't cause this - should it?
Has anyone gigured out how to stop this nuisance?

I think someone said (may have been Dev) that it's a bug in XPsp2.

From: Nolan Nash I think someone said (may have been Dev) that it's a bug in XPsp2. Why thank you Nolan for actually attempting to answer my question! For the other two - well, what was I expecting?

I dunno about any SP2 bugs, but dirty mice will do that. Assuming yours isn't optical.

Do you have any other pointing devices attached? Hehe, my Wacom tablet will do some pretty confusing things to me, when I don't pay enough attention to it. Usually because I'm not paying attention to the fact that the Wacom pen is rolling around on the Wacom tablet (its like that... Wacom pens are like dogs that want tummyrubs).

My pointer STILL drifts. I think someone posted a fix, but I never bothered to implement it. Hank Ramos comes to mind, but I could be wrong. Hopefully it will be a moot point soon. My alienware computer is finally is phase 12 outta 14. Next phase is packing it up, last phase is shipping it. Wheee!
