So, what is this again? Does the forum give you SL reminders if you are not in world?

If that's the case, that's one thing I'm looking for and I'd be thrilled.

Hey, something looks different about the Forum today :D

The reminders seem to be for the forum calendar which currently lists only birthdays, if I'm not mistaken.

Aw, too bad, an airhead like me would sure have made use of a function to remind her of in-world events, hehe ;)

Yeah, I'm still hoping that just like how you can receive Instant Messages in your emailbox, the same will go for events. Say, you're offline and have your email set to auto-check at regular intervals, it could send you a message about an upcoming event about 15-min. in advance, or so, and you'd know that it'd be time to Log In to Second Life again!

Future integration with PDA or your desktop calendar in this regard would be nice too. After all, you schedule for events in your First Life, don't you? :)

Funny thing is that we had this in game (being warned of events about 15 minutes before they started), but lots of people didn't like it :D

In any case, it'd really be nice to have a similar but reduced system of this kind. Say, being able to check what events/kind of events you want to be warned of, and some time before they begin, you get an IM and/or e-mail about it. There are so many things to actually DO in SL that, yes, it's very easy to simply forget that "the event you had noticed in the list 2 days ago is starting right now!"... :)

Tanaquil, they implemented this in 1.5. It's directly in the Events listing... you get an IM 5 minutes ahead of time.

p.s. check your PMs!

BTW - Linden Lab - THANK YOU for implementing this simple yet elegant fix to the Event spam problem.
