Hello, I am happy to announce the updates going on for the Toys for Tots fun raising event that took place on December 4th! Near the end of the event, DIANNA Fredericks from BTM asked me if I would send a challenge out over the air, which I did. That challenge turned into a massive competition between some of the wealthiest members of our community. From this challenege alone, which started out at 500L$ and ended with 218,847K L$. Although it has been announced in-world, Club Euphoria won the award of L$15K, with a grand total of 259 tickets sold. The Toys for Tots event sold 1644 tickets, which means you, the SL community, raised 411K L$ - with a grand total of 629,847 L$ - WTG SL Community!!!! Since then, I have been working hard with GOM crew, and a bit of IGE, trying to move the lindens as quickly as possible. Even though this has been an exciting task, it has taken a bit longer to sell off the L$'s then expected. After all the hard work that's been going on for this event since October, I am proud to say that the SL community has raised US$2,521.30 for Toys for Tots! That is a lot of Barbie Dolls, Tonka Trucks and smiling faces!!! I wish I could personally thank each and every one of you that participated during the event, and the members of our community that pulled together to make this event possible. Although, I think if Annie and I both tried to accomplish that, we would still be at it in October of 2005! THANK YOU, ALL OF YOU, FOR MAKING THIS A SUCCESSFUL EVENT FOR A LOT OF SPECIAL CHILDREN! Shokra Patel and Annie Lily

Shokra & Annie......
You ladies absolutly ROCK! Toys for Tots is a noble cause (I did some work with them in the real world years ago) and when I first came to SL and saw that Toys for Tots was in the game and saw what you two were doing with much passion, it took my breath away. What other game does this? NONE! And how many people (gamers) do this in games? Even less! I for one am proud and Honored to not only be able to play a "game" where such charities exist, but also to be part of a large community with such bright star's as yourselves.
I have two children, 8 and 3, and I have know many a poor child so I know what this time of year can do to a small child's spirit. I for one want to say thank you big time for doing this. It takes some special kind of people to do this in a "game" and the fact that you have gotten such results makes me (and others) feel good to be alive. You both have a LOT to feel proud of, and you should, because we do......... And this does not even include all the joy this will bring to the many children who will benafit from your actions.
Also I too would like to say thank you to ALL those who took part in Toys for Tots. You also show that there is more to "us" as humans than selfishness at this time of year. My deepest thanks. Whenever you two do this again; in fact if you do any other charity events, count me in. I am there. God bless you two wonderous souls, and God bless all the children, both poor and rich (yes them too), for they are our future and a lot of them suffer needlessly (Just ask the 10 year old girl who was arested for having scissors!).
And for all those who say that "games" can't do anything noble and help the world become a better place can just go kiss my As*!!! Thank you two very much again, and I hope you both have a very, very Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you again for organizing and making this drive a success Shokra and Annie! I am truly glad I was able to be a part of it and assist in helping bring awareness to this event and cause. I am so happy that it was as much of a success as it was!
WAY TO GO SL! Amazing what this community can accomplish when we join together and pool resources to assist others! To me this is very rewarding in so many ways, and I know that many SL residents have assisted unfortunate children who will now have something special and worth smiling about this holiday season.

The kids are going to benefit greatly because of "just a game". I am so proud of you Shokky...and Annie. You both are wonderful people and I'm blessed to know you both. I am also very proud of our little SL community...because when it truly counts we all seem to be able to stand up proud and be good people. Happy holidays to you all. *hugs*

Well there isnt much that can express how great the people who gave so much to the toy drive are...other than..........WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!! Shokra and I organized and worked on this idea.....but the people of SL made this a great success! We all know how the game gets.....full of drama and silly unimportant stuff........but this kind of response from the SL Community shows what we are really made of! So many people gave help and L and items.....right up to the very end we had people donating! I was amazed and impressed with everyone! Thank you Thank you Thank you to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Special Thanks to Robin and Jade for the raffle system they worked so hard on!!!!!!!!!!!!

w0000t ty Sho for the update! The event rocked and was so much fun. More importantly it is a wonderful feeling to know that the SL community can raise that much cash for such a worthy cause. I really hope to see something like this next year! Congrats and Thank you to everyone that donated and worked hard to make this event successful! This is definitely one of my fondest moments in SL.
