How should I go about dumping my land in Taber?

I have some land in Taber that I am looking to get rid of. It used to be Ama's arcade and casino, it has been there since the very beginning of beta. I am sad to have to part with such a historical place, but I dont have the time or patience to run a business in SL anymore, and, well, if Ama wanted it he wouldnt have given it to me. The current residents are all VERY interested in it. I thought I could auction it off and let them fight for it, but I'm not a greedy person and being a socialist euro-peon, I dont think its fair to privilege the wealthy. I thought that, to be fair, I could just give it to whoever has the least amount of land. Or I could run a lottery of sorts and give it to a random person. Or I could split the land among the interested parties. But then what criteria should be used in dividing it??? ARRGHH! What do you all think? Help me out here

ya know i hadn't thought of splitting it between two or three prim seeking parties. that's not a bad idea.
they could always trade it around if someone wanted the entire lot on the coast back in one piece.
i'll take it and hand it off to the residents if you don't want to be the bad guy ha ha ha. i would move over there actually except for the fact that my current lot is larger and all (mostly) squared off thank you pituca, garth, john and siggy.
of course eggy what ever you decide will be the right thing because you're always right right?

Eggy, I would have thought the best solution was to ask the interested parties what they wished to do with it, and give the land to the one you considered would make best use of it.

Is it near the Tudor Village? I might be interested in developing a "renaissance faire" over there.

I would love to help - I have been going to Faire in RL for nearly 20+ years now, back when it started in Calif. Unfortunately in RL the Faire sort of degraded into a yuppie art fair and no one here in Florida except the paid participants even show up in costume anymore. Anyhow - I could help you with the landscaping portion of what you need to build. Wow - wouldnt it be cool to have jousting in SL? Also A story teller and fortune tellers? This would be a great project. Rose

Rose I certainly will, Rose!! In the meantime --checkout the Neualtenburg Forum for a re-creation of a medieval bavarian city we're starting up in Anzere. If you're interested in helping with that feel free to contact me or Ulrika Zugzwang in game ciao, Kendra

Eggy - keep it in the neighborhood and give your neighbors first shot.
Meet with them and talk it out - see what they'd like to do. Maybe have them submit their thoughts to you before the meeting so you can get an get a sense of what's up with every one.

Dear God. It's finally happened. God, himself, is asking the humans for advice.

Rose You should come to the one in Maryland Rose. I believe its the largest in the country and the land is owned by the fair so they have real tudor buildings and A castle of sorts there.

Wow Eggy.. that's a very sensitive plot of land considering how beautifully consistent Taber is (and how easily it could be ruined)!
I am biased of course (as the person that owns much of the land surrounding your plot), but I am really pleased that you are offering it to the existing land owners here first. Any one of whom I am sure would do something to enrich the Sim further. As for how you should decide who gets it - difficult. That really has to come down to your own decision I guess.
I must say I applaud the fact that you are thinking about this sensibly. Well done you.
Jai

I haven't been out to see this land yet (I'm takin' a break from mowing my RL lawn). I'll go out and see it shortly.
But, if it's really nice...
I'm planning on building some high-end rental properties. Alas, I've only got about 25k to my name (all made in SL, thank you, and not purchased), and I'm having trouble getting a suitable piece of property. (it needs to be big)
Anyways, what I'm talkin' about doing is prettying up the place, not slapping down a sky scraper. I'd be more than happy to show you what I'm talkin' about if you'd like to see something that is both cosmetically pleasing, and beneficial to the community. I'm targeting people who don't want to own land and can't/don't want to build, but want a really nice place to live. All the bells and whistles.
Let me know.

This land is not available to non-taber residents. And it's only 2-3 hundred prims. If I haven't IMed you about it, you aren't being considered

Actually Eggy Imed me a few days ago...

And of course i expressed interest. However, Jai and I already own more of taber than most, along with garth and pit, and I know Siggy has been begging for more prims, he's prolly best suited. Very nice of you to keep it in the family. When we first started Taber we really tried hard and worked our behinds off to make it themed, and someone bought a parcel we didnt get to in time and rezzed a nuclear power plant. Lol, in the middle of a Tudor village.
Anyway, eventually he sold us the land, and it all worked out, so we appreciate the offer Eggy, really. We don't want our drinking water to become soiled again in our beautiful sim=) If no one wants it, I'll take it , otherwise Maybe Siggy or Jolene, or Jai.
True Class Eggy, thank you=) Crow
