WOW... I sure hope that first one is a hoax and the 2nd... does that kid really think his life is worth trying a stunt like that? That was truly stupid!!!

I was just looking at this at home the other day. It's not real.

The first clue is the shadow. Step through the movie slowly and watch it. You'll see that it isn't present right under the spot where he puts his foot to jump up. Our guess is that they used a green screen and a box for the jump. The box interfered with the shadow and either didn't show up or was erased to hide the box.

The second clue is the physics. Note that the jumper doesn't rotate around his center of gravity (near his stomach), when he's struck by the car. Normally, an impact below the center of gravity will rotate the body, the car will move under the body, and the body will strike the hood and windshield. In the film it's almost like the grill is sticky, grabbing his legs and pulling him with minimal rotation out of frame.

Having actually BEEN hit by a car while crossing the street, I can readily attest that Ulrika's analysis of the physics is correct. Me go up, over hood towards car, then down behind and to side... not flying in front of it. (Thankfully it was a fairly low-velocity impact; the driver made a right turn without checking that the cross-street was unoccupied at the time. :P )

I agree, you can also see (at least what looks like) a shadow of the box.

Oh, well.

I'm very disappointed, Ulrika. Here I was, pleasantly distracted by the idea that this guy won't father any stupid, car-chasing Children of the Future... and you had to go and ruin it with your physics.

Millennia ago, people like that would have been eaten by a tiger or something. But yeah, this is a fake. Sigh...

It's still a pretty cool film! I actually really enjoyed it and applaud their creativity.

If I'm not mistaken there is a real movie of some kids trying to reproduce this very stunt as seen in MTV's Jackass and things don't go well for them. I'll see if I can dig it up ... found it!
