Newbie questions

I have a basic question. I bought a pair of wings that I would like to wear. When I bought them they were put in the object area and not the clothing section. I tried attaching them to a section of the body but the placement was off. What do I need to do?

Also, I bought something in a box. How do I get it out of there? lol.

When you'v attached them (i.e. to your spine) then right click on them and choose edit. You can then reposition and rotate them to suit your av.



Put the box on the ground, right click on it, choose edit then open the contents tab. Items can be dragged from there into your inventory or out into the world.

As an almost-newbie myself, I think I'd like to add these two tips:

* Hold down the Shift key when dragging objects so that it copies rather than moves the object. I lost a few objects before learning that trick. I guess I should have read the online Help.

* You can only drag out the box in areas that are not marked "No Build" at the bottom of your screen. Try the new user build area next to the Welcome Area.

You can always attach it to your head and drag into inventory if you can't build. Had many a box on my head for that reason.

If you do forget to shift-drag from your inventory and delete the rezzed object, it should show up in your trash for a while.
