Personally, I think that the Bush Administration and the neo-conservative movement have betrayed whatever was good about the Republican Party and the conservative ideology in general.

I still find it cute that people still take sides. The two parties are basically the same money grubbing, special interest appeasing, elitist group of people. They are all in on a huge joke called a two-party democracy, and we are the saps who pick sides and think it really matters who wins....
Republican's win...democrat government officals still get paid and get perks and vice versa. They draw these lines in the sand to "define" their party stances, yet nothing really changes in America. We had big corporate bastards running amok during Bush Sr's reign, we had big corporate bastards doing the same throughout Clinton's as well...yet both sides assured us that once they take the Whitehouse in 2004 it will all stop....guess what?Just imagine pro wrestling....good guy, bad guy....and a buncha morons who think their cheering and fan support is somehow gonna change the outcome. Sure, the wide-eyed ones out there will tell you that your vote will bring change via a new representative...but what happens when said new person hits the shark pit that is Washington? he learns that you tow the party line...so they can all get paid. When a problem gets solved there is no more reason to have a lobbyists there forking over soft cash to get votes on their side...It's all a way to get paid. Idealism died with the founders. _____________________
