I truely appreciate the announcements of events and do believe they are very helpful to most of us, but would it be too much to ask to limit announcements to one liners?

I believe what Harald is referring to is (correct me if I am wrong) the in world IM announcements from the Lindens that are constantly popping up. Lately, it seems that it takes up to 3 announcements to announce 1 event. We always have to stop what we are doing and close the IM window only to have another pop up right after. Maybe there should be a feature that automatically closes the IM 30 seconds after the announcement is made.

Your IM window pops up with event announcements?? Weird! All IMs I get just show as normal chat but prefixed by IM: ... maybe an option in preferences somewhere? AIUI, the announcers just use the same info that you put in the event calendar. I quite like the wordy announcements, gives me a good idea of what the event is and where to go without having to IM a busy liason to ask for info. And I'm too lazy to find an event board every day  |

I believe these event announcement's are stopping with 1.1, since events will be build right into the client's Directory.

You mean we will no longer get the "Linden Spam" about upcoming events? I bet there will be a dropoff in attendence if so, most people have to be reminded.
And yes folks, post in the "Calendar" what you want broadcast to SL at large.
