I am a land owner, that i currently use to lease apts. Things are going really well, I bend over backwards to please the ppl that live on my land. Im a good person, friendly, and reasonable. I haven't caused drama, i haven't griefed, im just trying to have some fun in this game, make some money, build a community of friends. Not so bad right?
Well I am having neighbor problems. I have owned my property since August give or take a month, and never had a problem with any neighbor. It's a quiet sim, very nice, very pretty, and pretty much everyone there doesn't cause any problems.
Well, until I put up my apt build. My neighbor in his effort to hide my apt from his land, (is not an ugly build either) he placed a few trees on his side of the property line. Thats fine in itself. But the trees sway, and so closely that they invade the building, over the property line.
When speaking to him about it, he told me that he simply wanted to hide the view of my build, which is totaly fine i understand that. When i asked that he move his trees back some, he complained that it would take away space for building ( which it might, but a, this problem started 2 months ago and he hasn't built a thing on that plot, and b, he is invading my land not vice versa.) well as we talked I was not angry like i sound now, I was very poilte, and neighborly.
As the converstaion continued, his solution was to move my building back. Well why do i have to move my stuff? And i have no room to move it back to, im on a beach.
After this converstaion, getting the idea, that he wasn't gonna move the trees, i called on a linden. She was very helpful, and agreed that i shouldn't move my building, because he is invading the property. So she came, she saw the trees, and removed them, imed him, and left.
Problem solved? not exactly. The trees came back, twice they come back, and twice they've been removed. Now they are back again. And now i have ppl living in those apts. So it's not just me, but my tenents.
I hate drama, I hate it I hate it!.
I can't contact the owner anymore i ignores all my ims, and even in live chat, seems i've been muted.
=(
Anyone got any suggesstions?
edit.... and if someone can tell me how to attach a pic, i will show you what im dealing with

He should have been banned after putting the trees back after the Linden removed this.
What would I do? Keep reporting him. Over and over and over. It's all you really can do. Have your tenant report him too, since its affecting them.

I forgot to mention in my first reply that I know what you're going through. Land next to my beautiful tropical resort was bought by someone who used the land as his test bed for particle spewers and animated signs. Literally hundreds of them. Sim FPS went from 3400 before he moved in to 300. I asked him to please do something about his scripts which were wrecking the sim and he responded by putting up HUGE pictures of his RL girlfriend facing my land that rotated INTO my land, but I couldn't return because they were grounded on his land.
Lindens got involved, but he was always a jerk.
I feel for ya. I really do.

Aww thanks Aaron. Why does it have to be like this though??? If one person is clearly violating another's land, why is there an issue? Seems cut and dry to me.
Buy a sim if you wanna play with massive scripts, put up differant trees that arn't as poofy ( for lack of a better word) if you wanna hide a build. Why do you need to be stubborn and really just plan obnioxious.
Thanks aaron =) makes me feel better that im not the only one thinking this is unfair.

Sice the trees are back again, file abuse reports since he is repeatedly defying a Linden judgent. Describe exactly what has happened in the past using names and dates if possible. It's about all you can do other than live with the limbs poking in the building.
The problem with living in a free society is that means far too many people are free to be jerks.

I find it interesting that someone can purchase land and use it but if they plant a tree next to the border they get the short end of the stick while not doing anything other than using their property. On the other hand its not the trees fault for coming into the property but the linden created wind which drives it. To be honest the damn trees sway too much and should be fixed. The lindens should make the trees so they don't bend just rustle and we wouldn't have this problem hardly ever in world

Thats the problem Talen.......the swaying. I took a look, and it IS a problem...they intrude straight thru the walls of Syd's apartments. I agree that the Linden's need to address it, and possibly create a set of trees WITHOUT the sway, for just such instances. In THIS case tho, it's become an "issue", and regardless of the fact the the Lindens have obviously taken the view that they should move back.....they keep being replanted, which is not fair on Sydney. Syd's original poser, was "how would you handle this"? In my opinion, I'd offer to buy the other owner a collection of stationary trees, and there are plenty of nice ones in-world, which he\she could then plant in place of the swayers. If they opt not to accept...then it's because they WANT to continue causing problems, in which case...yeah....abuse report.

There are plenty of nicely constructed trees that don't sway through walls in the breeze. If I remember correctly, Toy LaFollette has a shop named "crystal palace" that has much beautiful landscaping for L$0 or L$1. You might want to consider making a gift box of them for your neighbor. ...Poems are made by fools like me, But only a Linden can make a tree sway.

Does anyone have a landmark, or something to find these 'swayless' trees? Looked up Toy's profile and didn't see a shop under picks.

Sydney - another option is to create a landscaped wall for your neighbor and set it to phantom. I have see these walls with trees and mountains and they are quite nice and lower prim than putting in a bunch of trees.
I have even seen walls that have several trees lined up and have been set to alpha texture in photoshop so that the remainder of the scenery can be seen between the trees.
It might be a nice option for you both.

ok, i just spent 750L on trees for him to put up.
Placed them all in a pretty little box, included a title script to hover over the box, named: A peace offering from Sydney Jacobs.
also in the box i inclueded a note, stating what i did and why, etc....
I do hope this works, if not, lol i did what i could to be civil ( a little above and beyond what had to IMO)
any other ideas are welcome
=)
