Last night, on Montmartre's mountaintop.something amazing went down.
I'm an Officer for Isle De Montmartre, the Artists Island, and work for it's owner, the lovely Mae Best. The past month and a half have been fraught with turmoil and chaos. Two weeks ago., Mae and I were at the lowest anyone could be. I felt I wasn't doing anyone a lick of good, and figured it'd be for the best if I resigned. Mae felt the same. I hollered out what was going on to the group on IM...and be dah -amned if they didnt come to the mountain top to work out how to solve some of the problems going on. Last two weeks, projects have been clicking along, events being scheduled, folks donating for raffles...
Then last night, just before an event..all the members of the group that were on came and unveiled a secret project theyd been working on, a "Thank you " to Mae and myself .
These amazing folks left me humbled and I still am, and honored to know them. I can't think of anything I've done to deserve it, except my job best as I can. Mae's been there for all of us on Montmartre, answering IMs ,keeping everything ticking, she's our heart and soul...if anyone deserves a monument..it's Mae.
Devotion and loyalty are things the come from the heart, not from incoming artillery rounds.
The amazing group of folks known as the Artistes of Montmartre have my loyalty
and I'll do what I can to live up to the honor they've shown me.
Peace and Brownies
