Hi, just started on my 14 day trial a couple days ago, and I was wondering if there's and sci-fish kind of groups I can get involved with. I'm pretty laid back and active, just trying to see if there's something here for me before the trial is up.
I appologize if this was the wrong forum.

I am sure there are sci-fi groups in the game, the best way to find groups is through the find button in game. You can always send an officer any questions you may have about the group. If you are into sci-fi, I highly suggest going to the Sci-Fi Geeks Museum in Indigo. One of my favorite builds in game. Hope you find some things that intrest you!

Ah, awesome. Great community so far it seems, usually when I get into games and make my first post in a forum I get a flame lol. Yeah, I tried the find last night and got slightly blown off cause I can't make stuff, so using forums atm hehe.

Kai, a warm welcome to Second Life to ya! I too recommend visiting. Yeah, the Museum has its own related group, aptly named "Sci-Fi Geeks". I'd be more than happy to talk Trek or chat cyberpunkystuff with ya. Time travel's another interest of mine. If you like cyberpunk, check out the city of Nexus Prime, situated in the Gibson sim. Antagonistic Protagonist has a ship far above the city that looks like the Enterprise on the exterior, but is actually Zetan in origin. Lots to explore there. Reyo Neutra put together a cool puddle jumper vehicle I was cruising in the other day, and she's also made a flying train. There are mecha galore and all sorts of fantastical creations within SL... if ya see something cool, get in touch with the user and/or creator!

On the subject of Trek, I was watching the documentry Trekkies last night, and this popped into my head immediatly.
In SL they could actually create a star trek world and live it, if SL reached them the player base would explode lol.

Yeah... a problem with that of course is the looming overhead of copyright infringement if things were to get too prominent, not to mention there is supposed to be an official Trek MMORPG by '06 or so... I enjoyed Trekkies a lot too.

Oh yeah, you're right. I remember how Marvel Comics sued City of Heros over likeness rights, but yeah, definately try to talk to you in SL soon
