The end of an era, definitely.
I suppose it's an inevitability, after the successes it reported on stripped it of its raison d'etre. The end of Section 28, the equal age of consent, the admission of gay people to the military, the beginnings of civil partnerships - all of these finally reduced the once great campaigning organ to a newsletter about Mardi Gras and club listings.
So it is with some regret that we note this paper's passing - but we look to the future, and to its lasting legacy.
