I have a confession to make. I’ve now been in this quasi-sorta-sometimes-actually-a-metaverse long enough to learn that I go on SL-benders. I see-saw in and out of my projects, go awol for up to a month, and then make radical changes out of the blue. . that sure as hell doesn’t sound like my first life.

Second Life is my outlet when I want to build things, pure and simple. You’ll rarely see me at a nightclub and most of the time when I’m on, I’m tinkering with my property. Now I have the urge to continue building and I’ve had to address an issue that has plagued me ever since I realized I need the help of others to make my ideas work: contracting people to help.

I’ve learned that I’m not alone with this problem. We all have a hundred influences pulling us in a million different directions. . testimony to the uniqueness and variety of SL, in my opinion. That said, how do I get my prims moved in a timely manner?

Recently I’ve thought that perhaps one approach is this: I’d love to create my items and then host an event and attempt to infuse functionality into them. Of course, I’m not interested in a free lunch from the LSL-saavy, but want to appropriately reward those who do the most work and not spend boatloads of money in the process. That’s when those weird little bugaboos like intellectual property and what I can and can’t do with the finished product go into it. I just want to add wandering monsters and furniture to my property. I don’t want to corner markets or and of that pointless political bullshit.

For the purposes of any hypothetical situation, I’d assume that any creation is unique to my property insofar that I wouldn’t sell it as my own and reap the benefit. I’m happy to reward on the generous side, I just want to do it in a way that will satisfy all parties. Incidentally, this comes from having occasionally having people hang out at my property and just brainstorm LSL stuff off the cuff. I’ve seen some really great stuff result and enrich my property. While I love building, I’m mildly retarded in the LSL arena and always treasure the guidance I get.

Thoughts?

I saw you at a night club last night! And how come wandering monsters are unremarkable, but wandering furniture is not? I'd like to have a house like Baba Yaga's, that picks itself up and walks off on chicken legs... wait -- chickens is There -- must be rhino legs.

I have some stuff to show you. I've already scripted several items that are along the lines of what you're looking for as props for my Mario avatar and I'd be happy to help. I forgot to exchange calling cards when I met you in game though :(

Wandering furniture! What an idea. :) Chalk that one up to bad sentence structure on my part.... :)

I remember you Michael. We chatted a few days ago. Thanks for any help you can offer.

RacerX Gullwing has a sofa that routinely escapes his shack and meanders along the bottom of the channel in Fujin.

yes but it's haunted and spooky and cannot be bound to a single proprty so I keep it in my inventory. But I do have a new couch that is consitent and never wanders but always starts moving when you close the door and does barrel rolls and can be progrramed to travel a short ways from where it start so long as it gets back to its original position before it runs out of memory. You still on that mountain you moved to from fujin?

Yeah, we need a way to break apart things more often so they are easily modified.

You too? Me too. I bought a self-help book on how to deal with procrastination but I haven't read it yet.
