Greetz :)

'Tis I... I am I giving away 40 Gmail accounts to good homes. This means that you will luv and cherish and treat your Gmail account well, and hopefully keep it neat-'n'-tidy and free of spam as well. ;) Gmail has 1000-meg goodness, streamlined interface, POP3 access, etc. I was thinking "Hmmm who should they go to?" but I couldn't think of anywhere more appropriate than here in the Second Life community.

So, if you'd like one, please email me: torley@gmail.com and let me know your current email address and SL name so I can send you an invite for access!

More info about Gmail can be found here:

If you're getting weird pop-ups try running adaware. I've never had pop-ups with gmail, but then I use Mozilla.

I also have gmail invites that I can't give away - I think everybody does...

You have to be feted first - wait around for a while and you'll eventually get them :)
I was invited to try Gmail by Google themselves on the very first batch of users, harvested from Blogger I think.
I have 50 invites to throw away and no one in need of them.

That's because it's woefully under-featured these days. No-one needs 1GB, and the other big email companies now offer in excess of 100-250MB for their users. The "threads" operate inaccurately, there is no HTML formatting or smilies and it feels like something from 1995.

I very much doubt it. I just don't like it - it's overhyped and rather dated compared to the services of Yahoo (which I personally use) and Hotmail.

What do you use? BT are my ISP, so I just use the provided BT Yahoo mail.

I don't know why. It works just as well as any other ISP. The only problem I have is my line supporting only 512k when the package has been upgraded to 2MB, but that's to do with the line and wouldn't change whichever ISP I used. (There is no cable here.)

I think gmail is very cool and a great way to organize stuff. Personally I don't mind the lack of smileys.
