Inspired by the thread about Bubble Bobble, which I used to play on the C64 I was wondering if anyone here had one/still has one LOL. I admit I get mine out now and again for nostalgia's sake and it was my very first foray into video games!

C64 games I remember:

Winter/Summer/California/World Games - Awesome to play with a group of mates!
Bubble Bobble - esp. 2 player
Lazy Jones - ANYONE remember this, the music rocked! :D
Giana Sisters - Spin off of Mario with girls.
WonderBoy
Ghosts & Goblins
Skool Daze!

God, its been a while...

I remember some fun text games, none of whoms name I can remember.

I remember some pretty fun star trek game where you flew from sector to sector killing klingons. Was pretty deep, for a C64 game.

I remember... Raid over Moscow, or Raid over Russia, something like that, a lot of fun.

I remember this game where you were the security director of a museum and had to catch the criminals.

I remember GeOS (On the 128, at least)

I still have my 128 somewhere and most of the games, but the discs are probably bad by this point.

*wavy mists of time*

I loved Bubble Bobble, used to drive my parents mad with the music :)

other games I remember playing a lot...

Wizball
Paradroid
California Games
Infocom adventures (esp. Leather Goddesses of Phobos ;) )
Last Ninja
Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders
Little Computer People! (I loved mine until he turned green and died :( )
Manic Mansion

*sniff* happy memories :)

My dad threw out my C64 + disk drive and about 200+ disks last year... I nearly cried when he told me! Even though they hadn't been touched for about a decade.

[edit] damn it, how could I forget Way of the Exploding Fist & Head Over Heels... [/edit]

Raid over Moscow was great.

SportTime Hockey was the best sports Management game ever (maybe a little exaggerated, but I still miss it).

Summer/Winter Olympics was a bunch of fun... broke many controllers playing that game, and I taped many back together with duct tape..hehe.

But, my all time favorite game, and one that I would still play if I could find a ROM (for C64 emulator) that worked properly, is....

Project Space Station.

I spent many sleepless nights with this game. I really miss it. If I could do anything in SL concerning game development I would want to recreate Project Space Station.

Ooh, I had forgotten about Little Computer People!
Mine was called Terrance and I used to spend hours playing poker against him. Pretty tragic really lol! That had to be a predecessor of the Sims lol. I never managed to kill mine though!

California Games was my fave out of the "Games" series - I used to like the BMX event best with the sarcastic comments it would give out when you messed up a jump :D

I just had a Ti-99, and Atari, until I upgraded to a PC in '88 :(

Hunt the Wumpus was not a good game.

Larissa,
There is a wonderful Emulator out there called MAME that does indeed run the original Bubble Bobble Arcade roms :)

Oh and I almost forgot, there are also many Commodore 64 emulators out there too :)

It was a wonderfully fun game :)

It's been a long time, and my C-64 has long since departed <sniff>... but I still fondly remember M.U.L.E. (Electronic Arts!) and OGRE.

Anybody ever port these to the PC?

I loved Little Computer People too!!!

And there was Daley Thompson's Decathlon for those Brits who remember it - definitely a precursor to my Carpal Tunnel syndrome! :P

Oh yeah - and the original 'Football Manager' series - those games rocked!!

Sooo many memories - I must hunt out an Emulator sometime :)

My best friend and I used to play on his C64. Raid Over Moscow, The Movie Monster Game, International Karate, G.I. Joe. We would play Telengard for hours, never getting anywhere, but howling with laughter at lines like, "The elf likes your body."

Ooh Impossible Mission!!!! did ANYONE manage to complete that? "Destroooy him my ROBOTS!!"

That reminds me of another....Realms of Impossibility. Crap graphically but really fun with a friend to try and escape from the dungeons and unlock new ones :D

Oh and.......DRELBS! Anyone remember that?

Hehe....I was talking about this with my brother (also a retro games freak) and he sent me MAME *happily playing Bubble Bobble*

I thought I was the only person on the planet with 'Realms of Impossiblility'

Other games I loved

Uridium
Raid on Bungling Bay
The Hobbit
Druid
Mail Order Monsters..
Spindizzy

Hell I even set up my old 64 as a BBS back in the 80's with 2 PET 1001 (1 meg) drives... slavering over a soldering iron I still remember the satisfaction of seeing appear on the screen for the first time

CONNECT 300

Siggy.

http://www.scenemusic.net

tons of demoscene music (including chiptunes from C64 and other platforms, like Atari ST)

you might want to search for "hell on earth spells game over" by Makke... sceners are still making intros and demos that run on C64 and other old platforms, see http://www.scene.org
