Isn't it funny that the same day Lindens have all these big changes that Ebay raises their rates also? Good thing that Ebay doesn't have Phillip by the short hairs...............NOT

I guess we now know where the influx is coming from. E-bay and IGE are both selling L$? Seems to me that LL is selling out to the big guys and racking in the cash by regulating the cash flow in favor of people with money and money exchangers.

I seriously think they need to rethink it all, get rid of the moneychangers and the influx of money will even out.

BTW, whoever says that SL is a closed economy is not correct because E-bay and IGE dump money into peeps accounts, so how is that closed?

You can argue all you want, but it is the plain and simple truth. The moneychangers threw off the SL groove.

Let's imagine a world in SL without GOM or IGE, personally, I think many people would've given up and quit by now because they just couldnt make their own money from the existing tools available to them. That's not a slam on anyone, some people just dont want to own a business or make things, it's too much like RL (personally I enjoy it, but that's a different story).

IGE & the like have provided a valuable service and have made their owners very rich, god bless entrepeneurship (sp?).

Um...no.

Ebay, IGE and/or GOM can not create Lindens in the way you're suggesting. If they did that, you would see Linden Lab cutting ties with them lickety split because that's called hacking the system and it's not legal.

Instead, people who make money in-game sell their L$ in return for $US, then these same people often either turn around and sell it back, or use it in-game themselves.

That's why it's called a currency exchange.
