I was just about to post the East Bay article. It features Darrly Chang, my business partner in D&D Dogs, and talks about us extensively

Great article. The highlighted people in the article were interesting and not the usual suspects.

I was just about to post the East Bay article. It features Darrly Chang, my business partner in D&D Dogs, and talks about us extensively ![]() Reading this now... CONGRATULATIONS D&D!!! Driftwood, on one of my first nights in SL, I met you and you gave me a tour of your place and showed me some cool Stargate gear like your gate and ring transporter. I was wowed, and didn't even know you made dogs yet, at that point. So, remembering that fond day, I gotta smile, because you helped make my SL experience a happier one and it all leads up to the present-day. ![]() _____________________

I'm still reading the first article, but this caught my eye...
Rosedale concedes that as the game becomes an investment, even a living, for some players, they may demand a say in how things are run. Indeed, as in Saudi Arabia, Linden Lab has been introducing some limited democratic reforms. For instance, the company recently delegated the power to ban problem users from Second Life to the world's residents. In the past, the company simply banished troublemakers. Now it empanels a jury, selected at random from a set of active players, to hear their cases. But don't expect too much. The CEO argues that the company's guiding hand, in many cases, will be better for everyone than any messy democracy. It DOES?! Has anyone heard about this? Or is this false? _____________________

Yep.
Details are here! /3/ee/33461/1.html But we never used the term "jury." It's a "Resident Review Panel." |

Wow, you know, I have a jaded eye (LOL) but this is a really solid article, it really goes into depth without being confusingly jargonistic for the first-time reader, and look who it features! However, I could not open the "Click here to see avatar..." profiles. The links don't seem to be there. Anyone else? _____________________

Torley, thanks for the kind words
![]() I recently put my Stargate back up at our main dog store, but everything else is in my inventory. I sold all my land and deeded it to D&D since this is really our main business. _____________________

And congrats to you Driftwood and D&D Dogs for being a longtime successfull business. ![]() Pathfinder, thanks for the link, I didn't know anything about that, it sounds logicly sound, has there been anything about how well its performing? Torley, yeah those links don't work for me either :/ _____________________

Hopefully they'll fix it at some point. I wanna read my thingie! hehe. I thought it was a really good article. It avoided the incredulous tone that most articles about virtual economies suffer from. Kudos to Laia. _____________________

Laila did seem to do quite a good job. In depth, but not evangelical or mocking... just the facts, ma'am, to quote Dragnet.
![]() I hope they make the photos clickable as well - I can't see them either! Could we get someone in San Fran (Hello, Pathfinder!) to send those of us in the artcle copies, or even better, get some good scans of those pages? Thanks! -Flip _____________________

I believe they were shown interspersed throughout the article as "call outs" about certain residents. I can't make out what they say!

I'm still reading the first article, but this caught my eye... It DOES?! Has anyone heard about this? Or is this false? It does! I was recently selected as a random juror. The process is really quite elegant. I did post a concern in the Hotline to Lindens forum... --Jack Lambert _____________________

The pics are at the top of the right side of the page starting around page 3. The pics themselves aren't clickable. The link is in the text below where it says "click here" link to PSD files.

There is no "click here" text below the inset images. The only text that I see is "to see avatar Anshe Chung" or "to see avatar Namssor Daguerre." Tried using Firefox too. Same thing. Hmmmmmm....

If you looked at it yesterday before they made fixed the links you might want to try clearing your browswer cache. Where it says "click here to see avatar so and so" the "click here" is a link.
