Got a cure for scripting boredom?

Well, I know this sounds rediculous to those with hectic SL lives but believe it or not I have been finding myself rather bored and looking for something to occupy my time in a scripting manner. I've looked over the forums and I really just didn't see anything that struck me heavy.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for stuff to script in SL or if you would like anything scripted you've been wanting and didn't know how to do... (Afterall I do run Thorn Customs ;) )

Really though I don't intend this as a classifieds type ad I was just curious if someone could shed some ideas on a boredom situation.

Dont know about scripting in SL, but if you fancy doing some RL dev, there's at least two projects going:

PlaneShift: http://www.planeshift.it
OSMP: http://metaverse.sourceforge.net (click on Screenshots)

PlaneShift is an impressive looking OpenSource MMORPG. It offers stunning graphics and sound effects and is looking rather cool.

OSMP is an OpenSource SL-like platform for gaming. You can host your own sim, and customize it to your heart's desire.

Things you can do in OSMP that you cant do easily in SL are: fast, synchronous script RPC, export/import to/from XML, read/write to persistant storage from scripts, hierarchical linking, smooth non-physical transformations in position, rotation, color and scale, and more. Coming soon: use bvh animations in any object.

osmp also has terrain prims which are kinda cool. but that's not scripting. i wonder if if it's possible to script a module that will read a grid of values from a notecard and terraform an area of the ground to match those height values. it would only be useful in a core or estate sim i suppose.

Take up a giant project, but make sure to do other things as well. Too much time on one project makes it dull/boring unless you dilute it with other activities as well. :)

Totally agree :) If you spend too much time on a single project, you run a great risk of actually getting something done...
