Now that events are no longer Linden funded:

- Would you, as an SL business, be interested in sponsoring an event, when it would allow for things like 'product placement'?
- As an event host, would you be interested in hiring DJ's etc, increasing prize money, or giving away non-monetary prizes when this would require you to 'promote' the sponsoring business?
- As a resident/consumer, would you shy away from advertising in events? Or would you accept those, if this would mean events are better, or prize money is higher.

With the currently limited amount of 'advertising' possibilities, it's often quite hard to find ways of reaching customers. In RL we often see companies sponsoring or advertising all kinds of events. Do you think this kind of sponsoring is viable in SL?

I myself usually am quite ambiguous about this. But i see it as a mechanism that works in RL and that maybe allows to bring back to life, some of the events, that are now being considered to be cancelled or reduced.

Done it before, and will do it again. Though, I'm fairly picky over what events I will sponsor.

That's a hard one. I dislike advertising even on tv when they inturrupt what I'm watching. On the other hand, everyone is influenced by it, and I see why it's done.

Of course, it doesn't have to be always in your face. Maybe a header/footer on the event listing, a poster (promanent of course) in the event hall, and an announcement at the beginning, and at prize time...
It all depends on the level of sponsorship!

Depending on the event, yes.

Definetely for quality events that people would appreciate.

Absolutely. I've donated prizes to events many times and am always willing to sponsor good events.

I've never hosted an event, but if I did, yes.

Advertising in events would be advertisements for other player's business's which deserve community support as much as events and clubs do. It seems like a perfect solution all the way around. Good for the event. Good for the sponsor. Good for the attendees.

I think these are great ideas! And ones I personally will use on both sides (both as an event host and as a retailer). :)
