I'm sure some of you already know this, but, soon the world will see a new World's Tallest Building, the Burj Dubai. The exact height of the building is still a secret, as far as I could tell. As of November 2004, there was no final figures, but estimates range from 700m to near 900m. To put that in perspective, the Sears Tower in Chicago measures 442m to the roof and has 110 floors. Burj Dubai is expected to have at least 160 floors and from images floating around the web, it looks like it will likely be at least 180 floors. For comparison (at the initial 705m height):

Good grief!
Any guesstimates available on what the maximum occupancy will be?
I wonder if an observation deck on the top level would be high enough for tourists to detect any curvature on the horizon (woefully ignorant of that type of stuff...)

How long till someone base jumps it? woooot!
looks pretty overrated to me - I bet I could get one of Corn's jeeps up it in about 5 mins.
Siggy.

I like it. It looks very art deco to me.
I hear arguments about whether the height should be measured to the top of the spire or to the last usabable floor. But either way, that sucker's huge. Top floor looks like 660m.
