It appears the FEC has already tried to limit what politic-related things blogs are allowed to publish... and it looks like they're at it again. How long before they win it?
How much longer until you're not allowed to have an opinion?

How much longer until you're not allowed to have an opinion? chill my brother, the rules are set up to give businesses the edge when it comes to laws as businesses own the political entities (just look at oil and banking, they have record profits and yet we end up paying more and more each year) so as long as the internet as a whole generates revenue it will therefore have clout (and bribe/lobby political units) censoring political speech is their goal as it's pretty obvious that there are far fewer rich people benefiting from the current environment than poorer people suffering and poorer people tend to vote for change... I dunno, but as long as we're vigilant it will be harder for them to take our rights away!!! _____________________

I dunno, but as long as we're vigilant it will be harder for them to take our rights away!!! I doubt any amount of lobbying, protesting, or voting will do anything to change the corporate/political agenda much. DMCA passed, Patriot Act passed, they almost got rid of VoIP. They just might in the end. It's already becoming dangerous business to mount a real protest -- one can expect to be shoved away, arrested, or pelted with various semi/non-lethal weapons. Newspapers already have to be careful what they say. TV just doesn't care and speaks on behalf of the government and their corporate backers directly. So the Internet is one of the last places where an average Joe (no matter how misinformed s/he may be) can publicly oppose the government... but the FEC is trying to shut that down in order to filter what is said in blogs... so where is the dissent going to be allowed? I wonder if ideas will one day become contraband. _____________________

yeah, the future looks bleak here in the USA for anyone not kissing the corporate provided jackboots of the republican regime, but they are loosing ground, social security is a major flop, the feeding tube hypocracy, if it wasn't for an almost 100 basic media saturation of favorable press they would be long gone which of course is why they want to chop off any free political speach that is contrary to their pre-packed news. Too bad the rest of the world isn't buying it and the rest of the world has blogs too!!!!

BTW
WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS! |
