I was wondering what is the headcount in SL...

WOW started with a big number 200,000

Some Korean game have 1,000,000

what's Second Life up to,
10,000?
20,000?
200,000?
400,000?

Should be none right now...

But official sources claim about 5000 I think.

Robin quoted 15K in the last TownHall. Philip quoted 17K.

Odd to see marketing more conservative than CEO..

Is this figure for active players (who actually log in when they can) or does it include people who signed up for $10 accounts and left? Just curious :)

That's active players, inactive players is almost an order of magnitude larger. :)

Hey adam, don't suppose you have a link for your population data? I love watching that stuff, and I fear Ezhar's list is falling behind as he doesn't add new areas as they come onto the grid.

17,000 active user accounts? How is "active" defined? e.g., Logging in once a week?

Also, how many of the active accounts are alts? It seems to me that more and more people are getting alt accounts for various reasons (privacy, focusing on different projects, etc.)..the same way people typically have multiple email accounts or IM screen names.

Last question...what's the average number of simultaneous users logged on?
